Born from a passion for preserving the "God's Own Country" weaving traditions, Merah was founded to bridge the gap between ancient artistry and the modern woman's wardrobe.
The name "Merah" symbolizes radiance and grace—the very essence of a woman draped in six yards of history. While we began as a local initiative in Kerala, our vision has always been global. We believe that an authentic Kerala Kasavu or a rich Kanchipuram silk shouldn't just be a garment; it should be an heirloom passed down through generations.
Our Roots: The Kerala Handloom Heritage
In a world dominated by fast fashion and power-loom imitations, Merah Collections stands as a sanctuary for Authentic Handloom. Our journey takes us deep into the weaving clusters of Balaramapuram and Chendamangalam. Here, master weavers work with fine cotton and pure zari, creating the iconic white-and-gold palette that defines Kerala's identity. Also, Kuthampully is a village near the Bharathapuzha in Thrissur that's famous for weaving beautiful Set Mundus.
